Our Story
Our daughter, Ada, came with a lot of surprises. She was born with Down Syndrome and a couple holes in her heart. This came as a shock to us and we found ourselves reeling with our new-found challenges. We didn't know much about Down Syndrome and wondered what the future would hold. The months following her birth included multiple hospitalizations, an emergency life flight to Primary Children's and open heart surgery. Through all of this we have found that nobody makes it through this journey alone. It has been 9 years now and Ada is a vibrant and healthy girl. She loves to sing and dance. She wears glasses and likes to tease her brothers and sister. She rides the bus to school where she’s learned to read and exert her independence. Initially we wondered what she would be capable of. Now we know that there is nothing she can’t do!! Thanks to great caregivers and family Ada is doing well and is one of our angels. We are excited to be a part of Walk With Angels 2017 and consider it an honor to be counted among you.
About The United Angels Foundation
United Angels Foundation (UAF) is a nonprofit, parent-to-parent support group for families of children with special needs (our Angels). Our goals at UAF consist of providing interaction, education, and resources to our parents. From newborn visits, to group activities for parents and children, we strive to be there every step of the way. Funds raised from our Walk with Angels event will specifically go towards financing our educational seminars and group activities. These funds are also used to administer our newborn and new member program. Thank you for your support of all the Angels in our community!
