Our Story
Our sweet Liam is now 3! Liam was born on December 5, 2013 and it was a surprise to us that he was born with a little something extra. Liam has Down syndrome, which means he was born with 3 copies of the 21st chromosome, also known as Trisomy 21. We were unsure about what his future would be like, but we fell in love with him right away and were ready to take on this journey. And we have been so grateful every minute since then that he was sent to us.
The United Angels Foundation came and visited with me a couple months after he was born and I immediatly felt connected with other families who have now become my closest friends. United Angels also provides me with great trainings to help Liam, as well as fun activities for the rest of my family. I am so grateful for this support group!
Liam is now in preschool and loves going on the bus! He is learning more words each day and loves to sing. He started walking just before his 3rd birthday and we can't wait to see him walk this year at the Walk with Angels!
About The United Angels Foundation
United Angels Foundation (UAF) is a nonprofit, parent-to-parent support group for families of children with special needs (our Angels). Our goals at UAF consist of providing interaction, education, and resources to our parents. From newborn visits, to group activities for parents and children, we strive to be there every step of the way. Funds raised from our Walk with Angels event will specifically go towards financing our educational seminars and group activities. These funds are also used to administer our newborn and new member program. Thank you for your support of all the Angels in our community!
