Vote for UAF (United Angels Foundation) in the APX Gives Back Charity Contest

Well, we’ve made it through the first round! Congratulations to UAF! That means we were in the top 15 charities voted for in the “Mountain” region. It’s obvious, however, that we’ve got some stiff competition. So, let’s all be sure to get our and VOTE for UAF in the APX Gives Back charity contest.

We need to become to have the chance to win, we need to become the #1 charity in the Mountain Region by August 21, 2010. So, please tell you family and friends to be sure to come and vote for UAF!

What an incredible event we had this year! The Walk with Angels event was a huge success, with hundreds of families out to support parents and families that have children with special needs. Great games, bounce houses, and lots of special guests, including: BYU’s Cosmo, the Flash Fox, UVU’s Wolverine, Darth Vader and other Star Wars guests and much much more. Face painting, dancers, musics, raffles, and of course, our one-mile advocacy walk.

Another miracle of the day was the weather. Originally forecast to rain ALL day, our event was truly blessed with some miraculous weather. Many in attendance were caught pointing to the sky at the ring of clouds that surrounded the area, and yet, sun shone brightly on the event all day long! These kids truly are Angels on earth.

Another cute story from the event was a Q&A between two sister. One sister was overheard asking the other, “Why is this called the ‘Walk with Angels’?” To which the other sister replied, “Because all of the Angels on Earth will be here today!”

Vote for UAF (United Angels Foundation) in the APX Gives Back Charity Contest

The United Angels Foundation has a great opportunity to win some money through a charity contest sponsored by APX. The contest is called APX Gives Back and provides individuals who are subscribers of FACEBOOK with an opportunity to vote for their favorite charity.

The rules of the contest are that each person can vote for a particular charity once each day. That means that if you have a Facebook account, each day you could vote for the United Angels Foundation. If we all work together, we have a GREAT chance of winning this competition.

To vote for UAF, goto: http://apps.facebook.com/apxgivesback/, sign into your facebook account, and click on the Click to Start nominating and voting button. On the next page, you will see a row of icons for the different areas that APX is hosting the competition. Click on Mountain (the green icon), and it will narrow the list of charities to those in the Mountain Region. Then find the United Angels Foundation charity, and click on the green button that says, Endorse this charity. THEN COME BACK EACH DAY AND DO IT AGAIN!

In addition to your individual votes, please ask all of your friends and family to vote for us also. Post an update to your Facebook profile, and ask your family and friends to vote for us each day.

Well, it’s official, UAF has held it’s first official Walk with Angels fundraising event! It was a fabulous success, and all thanks to the incredible support of our Walk With Angels (”WWA”) Planning Committee!

Special thanks goes to: Amber Leck, Jill Austin, Maren Monfredi, SunDee Lasko, Allison Bartholomew, Jessica and Travis Quinn, Tandi Cichoski, Melanie Taylor, and Daniela and Moroni Alvarez!!! You guys rocked!

We had a Salt Lake County and Utah County Christmas party this year. Both events were awesome for all of our families and friends. If you couldn’t make it this year, we hope you can next year!

We had a fantastic Christmas Party this year! Santa Clause made a special visit just for our Angels, and all the kids were ecstatic to see him. We also had a wonderful performance from the Sparkly Pals dance group! All photos of Santa are now available online in our member section, for all UAF members!
